John Krasinski tackles terror, career shift in ‘Jack Ryan’

LOS ANGELES (AP) — John Krasinski is shaking up his image from “The Office” and romantic comedies including “Away We Go.”

In the new Amazon series “‘Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan,” he plays a smart young CIA analyst who’s willing to throw punches when needed.

Krasinski also is proving himself as a film director, making noise with the critically acclaimed “A Quiet Place.”

“Jack Ryan,” which also stars Wendell Pierce and Abbie Cornish, debuts Friday on Amazon.
