Kimbal Musk talks food, deflects his brother’s bad press

NEW YORK (AP) — While Elon Musk was on the verge of announcing the first private passenger to travel to the moon, his younger brother Kimbal Musk was talking about growing basil plants at an indoor garden in Brooklyn.

Kimbal Musk is on a mission to bring local food to schoolchildren around the country. He has made a name for himself by opening a chain of restaurants and planting more than 500 gardens.

But he still finds himself deflecting questions about his billionaire brother’s behavior.

Kimbal Musk redirected the discussion about his brother at a breakfast in New York Monday when asked about his troubles.

Tesla’s board, on which Kimbal Musk serves, has remained largely silent through the company’s ongoing problems, raising questions about its independence.
