Los Angeles commercial fire extinguished after 7 hours

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles firefighters battled a major commercial building fire for more than seven hours before knocking down the flames.

The blaze erupted in the two-story building in the Glassell Park area Monday afternoon and was finally extinguished at 12:40 a.m. Tuesday.

More than 150 firefighters battled the fire amid hazards from downed electrical wires and the threat of collapse.

The Fire Department says no injuries were reported and the cause and total amount of the loss have yet to be determined.
