Luis Fonsi releases his 1st album in post-‘Despacito’ era
NEW YORK (AP) — Luis Fonsi says he still is a romantic singer and is ready to show “all his cards” on the new album “Vida,” his first full-length release after his global smash hit “Despacito.”
It’s the Puerto Rican singer’s ninth studio album and his first in five years, a time marked by big changes in his life and his career.
“Vida” includes “Despacito” and four previously-released singles, as well as romantic ballads with influences of R&B and a touching song for his son Rocco, who was born around the same time as his biggest hit. In all there are 15 songs total that cover Latin pop, R&B, reggaeton and other genres.
Fonsi tells The Associated Press he wants to be able to dance and “make people rejoice” with his new music.
“Vida” comes out Friday.
