Man arrested 2 years after teen dies in botched burglary

LEMON GROVE, Calif. (AP) — Two years after a 15-year-old intruder died in a Southern California home invasion, authorities say his alleged accomplice has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

San Diego County sheriff’s Lt. Chad Boudreau says deputies identified Joshua Story as the second of two intruders believed to have broken into the Lemon Grove home in Feb. 2017.

The Union-Tribune reports the 26-year-old was in custody on unrelated charges. He was arrested Wednesday in connection to the killing of 15-year-old Derrick Harris. It’s not known if he has an attorney.

Investigators say the intruders were armed and shot a resident, who survived. During a struggle with another resident Harris was shot. He died at the scene.

Boudreau did not say what led authorities to identify Story as the suspected second intruder.
