‘May Gray’ brings cool, damp spring to Southern California

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Southern California is getting a heavy-duty dose of “May Gray.”

A deep marine layer across most of the region is bringing scattered light rain and showers Saturday morning, courtesy of low pressure centered over Nevada.

The National Weather Service says there will only be partial clearing on Mother’s Day and temperatures will remain quite cool through early Monday.

Slight warming will follow but temperatures will be below normal next week.

Another upper-level, low-pressure system is expected to move into the eastern Pacific on Tuesday, likely bringing another deep marine layer and possibly showers Thursday and Friday.
