Most evacuations lifted near Southern California wildfire

CORONA, Calif. (AP) — Most evacuations have been lifted around a Southern California wildfire area near the city of Corona.

The fire erupted Thursday and grew to about 250 acres (101 hectares).

In the Sierra Nevada, the Ferguson Fire has grown to more than 33 square miles (85 square kilometers) of forest west of Yosemite.

The El Portal Trailer Court is the latest of seven areas to come under mandatory evacuation orders.

The Ferguson Fire broke out on July 13 and a bulldozer operator was killed the next day while working to contain the flames.
