Most power restored after Los Angeles windstorm

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Power has been restored to more than 97,000 utility customers in Los Angeles in the aftermath of a midweek windstorm, and crews are working to repair remaining outages.

The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power says about 1,000 customers remain without electricity Thursday.

The municipal utility says the tempest that began late Tuesday afternoon was the strongest windstorm to affect the city’s power grid since November 2011.
