NYPD: 2 officers shot during apparent robbery in Queens
NEW YORK (AP) — New York City police say two officers have been shot during an apparent armed robbery.
It happened around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at a store in the Richmond Hill section of Queens.
The officers’ condition weren’t immediately known. Mayor Bill de Blasio is at the hospital.
Police tweeted that people should expect a police presence and heavy traffic and that they should avoid the area.
In December, a police officer on Staten Island was hit by friendly fire as officers responding to a domestic dispute call shot and killed a man carrying a knife.
