Police bodycam footage shows officer shooting girl, 17

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Police have released body camera footage showing an officer fatally shooting a 17-year-old girl on a Southern California freeway.

Fullerton police on Friday released graphic video of the July 5 confrontation that killed Hannah Williams.

The video shows Williams pointing a realistic-looking replica gun at the officer after their cars collided on an Anaheim freeway.

The officer shoots the girl within moments of leaving his patrol car. A slowed-down version of the video shows the teenager pointing the replica gun, which is later seen near her body.

Police also released part of a 911 call that the girl’s father made 90 minutes after the killing. In it, the shaken father reports that Williams was on antidepressants, had disappeared hours ago and he feared she might harm herself.
