Police probing link between missing CA men and car deaths

BURBANK, Calif. (AP) — Police say they are investigating whether three men reported missing from Bakersfield were the people found dead inside a parked car in Burbank.

Burbank Police Sgt. Derek Green says Wednesday the car where the bodies were found “certainly matches” the vehicle the men were believed to be traveling inside.

Bakersfield police say JC Amiama, Lucas Amiama and Carlos Lopez were reported missing Sunday.

A parking enforcement officer called police after spotting a lifeless body inside the car Tuesday morning. Paramedics later found three people dead inside.

Green says the victims have not yet been identified and it was unclear how they died. But police said the case is a homicide investigation.

Bakersfield police Sgt. Brian Holcombe said the men were still considered missing and the investigation is ongoing.
