Priest travels US spreading Gospel 1 good deed at a time
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Father Jim Sichko has a 50-state congregation and a simple mandate from the pope: Go forth and do good deeds.
That’s why the Roman Catholic priest was at a crowded In ‘N Out burger joint in Los Angeles recently to buy lunch for everybody. Why he filled everyone’s tank at a gas station in Arizona the next day.
The Kentucky-based preacher is a papal missionary of mercy, appointed by Pope Francis is 2015 to spread joy, forgiveness and kindness everywhere he goes.
After years roaming the country performing “random acts of kindness” Sichko is stepping up efforts.
He’s begun bottling his mother’s marinara — Miss Marie’s All Natural Spaghetti Sauce” as a means of raising more money for charitable causes for everyone — not just Catholics.
He says “kindness begets kindness.”
