Reno man accused in child’s death; body found in storage
RENO, Nev. (AP) — A 23-year-old Reno man arrested in California as a manslaughter suspect in the death of his 5-year-old daughter has waived extradition and will return to Nevada to face criminal charges after the girl’s body was found last week in a storage unit in Sacramento.
Tyler Anderson waived his extradition Monday during an appearance in Sacramento Superior Court on suspicion of manslaughter.
Additional charges are expected, but so far he’s only been charged in Nevada’s Washoe County with fugitive fleeing justice and child neglect resulting in substantial injury.
His wife, 23-year-old Averyauna Anderson of Reno, was arraigned in Reno Justice Court May 18 on a charge of child neglect. Her bail hearing is set for Thursday.
Public defenders representing the two suspects in California and Nevada didn’t immediately return telephone calls seeking comment on Tuesday.
