San Diego County college evacuates due to ‘credible threat’

CHULA VISTA, Calif. (AP) — Southwestern College in San Diego County is evacuating its Chula Vista campus and outlying centers due to a threat.

The college tweets Thursday morning that campus police are investigating a “credible threat.”

There’s no immediate additional information about the nature of the threat.

All classes are canceled for the remainder of the day and all campuses and departments are closing.

The Southwestern Community College District serves residents of the south San Diego County region and current enrollment exceeds 19,000 students.
