Small plane crashes on hillside in San Diego County
OCEANSIDE, Calif. (AP) — A small plane has crashed into a hillside in coastal San Diego County.
KGTV reports one person was killed and another was trapped after the crash Tuesday morning near Oceanside.
The station says the crash was reported to police and firefighters just before 7:30 a.m. on Canyon Drive near State Route 76.
An aerial view of the crash site shows the wreckage just below the crest of a ridge.
Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor says the unidentified single-engine airplane with two people aboard crashed under unknown circumstances.
The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board will investigate.
