Street fight victim vanishes as deputies arrest aggressor

VISTA, Calif. (AP) — San Diego County sheriff’s deputies intervened in a street fight between two men but while they were busy arresting the apparent aggressor, the victim disappeared.

The Sheriff’s Department says deputies saw the fistfight in the middle of a roadway in Vista around 6:50 p.m. Thursday.

One man delivered a series of punches to the head of another man who appeared to be a cab driver and seemed as if he was about to lose consciousness.

Deputies ordered the aggressor to stop and get on the ground but he refused. Deputies used an unspecified less-lethal weapon on the man and arrested him for a parole violation and being drunk in public.

The cab driver, meanwhile, got back into a yellow Toyota Prius and drove away.
