Suspect sought in LA Metro subway station sexual assault

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles police are looking for a transient suspected of choking, punching and raping a victim in a subway station.

The assault occurred March 14 in a Metro Red Line station in East Hollywood.

A police statement says the victim asked a man for directions and was lured into a secluded emergency exit room where the assault occurred.

Detectives say the suspect is a transient who frequents Metro stations from Compton to Santa Monica.
