Tear gas ends LA motel robbery suspect barricade
LOS ANGELES (AP) — A robbery suspect barricaded in a Los Angeles motel gave up after SWAT officers fired tear gas canisters into his room.
The all-night standoff in Sherman Oaks ended around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday with the man’s surrender.
Police Sgt. Luis Rosas tells City News Service police received a call around 11:35 p.m. Tuesday reporting a robbery in progress at the motel in the Sherman Oaks area of the San Fernando Valley.
Moments after the tear gas was used, a man exited the room, walked down a staircase and was taken into custody.
