Teen says she felt harassed in recorded deputy altercation

LILLINGTON, N.C. (AP) — A North Carolina teen who recorded a deputy tackling her sister and then was also brought to the ground is complaining that she felt harassed. A deputy has been put on leave pending an investigation.

Seventeen-year-old Aumbria Urban tells WRAL-TV it was hard to watch her 14-year-old being tackled by a “grown man” Monday. She says she posted her video online to make a point about law enforcement.

A Harnett County sheriff’s statement says deputies saw the teens in a vehicle matching a caller’s description of drug activities. The girls began recording as they arrested the driver on misdemeanor gun charges. The sheriff’s office said the State Bureau of Investigation is probing the case.

Urban says they got their phones back and weren’t charged with any crimes.
