Authorities in Northern California say deputies who returned to the scene of fatal stabbing for evidence found a second victim suffering from stab wounds and a suspect fleeing.
The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy driving a desolate road found the first victim Monday in a densely wooded area. Authorities did not identify the man, but his family told KGO-TV he was Abdul Mailk, a cab driver who was working when he was killed.
The office says that when deputies returned to the site Tuesday, they heard a man calling for help and saw a suspect fleeing in a car. The victim had also been stabbed and died at the scene.
The suspect was taken into custody. No names have been released.
Investigators are trying to determine if the two slayings are connected.
