Video shows California high schoolers giving Nazi salute
GARDEN GROVE, Calif. (AP) — Southern California school officials are condemning a video of high school students giving Nazi salutes during an awards ceremony last year.
The video obtained by the Daily Beast shows about 10 members of Pacifica High School’s water polo team giving the salute in an empty, unsupervised room. The Daily Beast says the students also sang a Nazi marching song played for German troops during World War II.
The Garden Grove Unified School District said in a statement Monday that the footage was recorded in November 2018.
The district said administrators addressed the situation after becoming aware of the video, but didn’t elaborate.
Students from a different school in Orange County were suspended in an unrelated incident this year after photos emerged of them playing beer pong with cups set up in swastika formation.
