Video shows officer tossed from motorcycle in LA collision

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Officials say a Los Angeles Police Department motorcycle officer suffered serious injuries in a collision with an SUV that sent him flying off his bike and onto a street.

Video of the crash obtained by KABC-TV shows the officer flipping end-over-end through the air and landing on the pavement.

Bystanders rushed to help.

The news station says the officer remained hospitalized Monday. He’s expected to recover.

The driver of the SUV was also taken to the hospital for an evaluation after the crash Friday morning in the Van Nuys neighborhood.

The video is being used as part of the police investigation.

No word yet who is at fault.
