Woman charged in stabbing of Oakland police officer

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Authorities have identified a woman arrested in stabbing last week of an Oakland police officer as he walked to his car after getting off work.

The Oakland Police Department identified the woman as 41-year-old Margret Goodlife and said she was charged Tuesday with attempted homicide on a police officer.

The department says Goodlife was on probation and is being held without bail.

Police say the officer was walking to his car Thursday evening when Goodlife approached and stabbed him.

The officer was rushed to a local hospital and treated for stab wounds to the neck. His name has not been released.
