Woman fatally shot at Oakland train station parking lot
OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Police in Northern California say a woman was fatally shot in the parking lot of a train station in Oakland and that a man is being sought in the killing.
Bay Area Rapid Transit says the woman shot Thursday night in the parking lot of the West Oakland station was taken to a hospital where she died.
The transit agency says it’s not known if she was a BART rider. Her identity has not been released.
It says the suspect fled the scene and BART Police and other law enforcement agencies are searching for him.
The station closed for about 30 minutes while the woman was treated by emergency personnel.
The agency says the station is opened Friday and operating normally.
