Imperial Beach residents not happy about proposed public bathroom on Beach Ave

IMPERIAL BEACH (KUSI) – The City of Imperial Beach is looking to put public restrooms on the corner of Seacoast Drive and Beach Avenue.

Tuesday evening, The Port of San Diego and the City of Imperial Beach invite the owners and tenants adjacent to the Beach Avenue street end and any interested members of the public to attend a neighborhood meeting to view design concepts for the Beach Avenue Comfort Station and Street End Improvements Project in Imperial Beach.

Many residents showed up to voice their opposition to the project.

The goal of the Imperial Beach neighborhood meeting was to hear from adjacent owners/tenants and the community about preferences for the location and design of these elements. Approximately $1 million is provided for construction by the Port’s Capital Improvement Program.

KUSI’s Allie Wagner was in Imperial Beach Wednesday with the latest update on the issue.
