Monday, November 04, 2013 – A Vista man called KUSI's Michael Turko when he noticed something odd on his county property tax bill. Turko says it's not a mistake. It's an odd charge for a service he doesn't get. City officials say they have to come up with an extra $350,000 a year just to keep the streetlights burning. A few years back they tried to increase the street light tax to make up for that but gave up when they realized most residents planned to vote against it. Plus, SDG&E would charge them a huge fee to shut off the power.
