SAN DIEGO (CNS) – Homicide detectives Monday investigated the suspicious death of a 25-year-old woman in Pacific Beach.

Officers received a report of an apparent suicide in the 2000 block of Oliver Avenue at 11:17 p.m. Sunday, according to San Diego police homicide acting Lt. Manuel Del Toro.

Upon arrival, officers learned that the woman was unconscious and paramedics attempted life-saving measures, he said in a statement, adding that she was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:42 p.m.

“Officers at the scene observed some injuries to the female but the exact cause of death is unknown at this time,” Del Toro said this morning. “Due to the apparent injury and unknown cause of death, homicide detectives were called to the scene to conduct an investigation into how the female died.”

Her name was withheld pending notification of her next of kin.
