Iowa family comes to San Diego for Holiday Bowl

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – The Iowa Hawkeyes take on USC Friday evening in the Holiday Bowl.

There are tons of football fans in town for the game and some Iowa fans stopped by the Good Morning San Diego studio Thursday.

Bill and Donna Obenauf’s daughter is in the Iowa marching band and shared her special connection to the team.

Mallory Obenauf was only  5-five-years old when her family discovered that her spine curved at a 30-degree angle. She later had her surgery at University of Iowa Children’s Hospital in Iowa City.
