Jailed gang member arrested for Libby Park double murder

OCEANSIDE (CNS) – A documented gang member already in prison on a parole violation was arrested Thursday and two other men were detained for questioning in connection with the shooting deaths of a teenage girl and boy at an Oceanside park, a police official reported.

AL'C Robert Bejaran, 19, was expected to be booked on two counts of murder in connection with the May 3 slayings of Sandra Salgado, 14, and Fernando Felix Solano, 16, at Libby Lake Park in Oceanside, Lt. Leonard Mata said.

Patrol officers found the victims' bodies at the Calle Montecito Street open-space area about 10:30 p.m. while responding to reports of gunfire.

Investigators have established no motive for the killings. The slain teens, both of whom lived in Oceanside, had no known gang ties, according to Mata.

Bejaran has been in custody at Donovan State Prison in Otay Mesa since May 9. He and the other two detained men, whose names were not released, were being interrogated this evening, Mata said.
