Jimmie Johnson and Habitat for Humanity build new homes in El Cajon

EL CAJON (KUSI) – Six time NASCAR Champion Jimmie Johnson is known for being better at taking left turns than anyone over the last 10 years.  He is also pretty handy at building houses.  Johnson and his wife Chandra come back to El Cajon in San Diego every year to give back.

This time the Johnson’s are adding four more houses to Foundation Lane. The Jimmie Johnson Foundation donating $100k to four deserving families as part of the San Diego “Habitat for Humanity”.  Since 2007 The Jimmie Johnson Foundation has built eight houses on Foundation Lane, with the Johnson Foundation contributing $100K, Johnson’s Primary sponsor “Lowe’s” Contributing $100K, with the families contributing the final $100K.

“habitat for Humanity is just one of the Programs the Jimmie Johnson Foundation contributes to. Johnson also holds annual golf tournament that raises 100k annually to help some of Jimmie and Chandra’s other projects including “Make A Wish”, “Champions Grant”, (Which helps underfunded schools), “The Ronald McDonald House”, and “Hendrick Marrow Program” (Which helps find Bone Marrow donors for Adults and Children on the “National Marrow Donor Program Registry”).

When Johnson is not donating his time, he is dominating the stock car circuit.  in 2015, Johnson has already won four times which leads the series.
