Judge Steven Bailey running for California Attorney General

Judge Steven Bailey joined good Morning San Diego to discuss his candidacy for California Attorney General.

Steven Bailey was born and raised in Yolo County, California. Growing up on the family farm he learned the value of hard work and an appreciation for California’s Ag Industry. Following his graduation from high school, Steven enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He would proudly serve his country until honorably discharged in 1976.

With a passion for the law, Steven earned his Juris Doctorate from Lincoln Law School of Sacramento in 1987. He would simultaneously serve as Deputy Director in Charge of Legislation for the Department of Social Services under Governor George Deukmejian until 1991.

After practicing Criminal Law for almost 18 years, Steven was elected to the California Superior Court in 2008 where he would serve until 2017. During his tenure on the court, Judge Steven Bailey presided over the most complex legal matters including domestic violence, mental health disorders, human trafficking, elder abuse, juvenile criminal and dependency cases.

Out of his deep respect for the men and women who have fought to keep our country safe, Judge Steven Bailey led in the establishment of the Veterans Court in Eldorado County.
