Kahala Travel Citizen Athlete of the Week

Team Sports Travel, a division of Kahala Travel, KUSI and San Diego Section of CIF are proud to announce the return of the Citizen Athlete of the Week Award. This honor will be by application only for all sports during fall, winter and spring seasons to honor not only the outstanding athlete but also to recognize those athletes who are outstanding citizens in their community.

These applications may be downloaded by clicking here and must be completed by the athlete including recommendations and verifications from coach, school administration and counselor.

Areas of evaluation will include:

* Sportsmanship
* Athletic and academic achievements
* Community involvement.

All applications will be reviewed by Team Sports Travel and the top 5 will be forwarded to San Diego Section of CIF for final selection. Weekly recipients will be interviewed by KUSI's Sports Division and awarded a letterman's jacket patch and will be announced each Friday on the PPR during prep football season, and each Thursday evening on the KUSI News thereafter.

In addition all weekly winners and their coach will be honored at an awards banquet in May 2011, at which time the yearly Citizen Athlete will be awarded a $1000 scholarship and a family cruise vacation for four.

Applications will be kept on file for each sport season. To be considered for additional sports, applicants must reapply during each season they participate.
