2:00 p.m. — Los Angeles Lakers superstar shooting guard Kobe Bryant’s career comes to a close Wednesday night. The Lakers host the Utah Jazz in what will be Bryant’s final game in the NBA, bringing an end to his 20-year career. The five-time NBA champion has enjoyed a farewell tour throughout the season, visiting cities around the United States for his final games in front of fans outside of Southern California. Opposing teams have produced numerous tribute videos, thanking him for his two decades in the league.

The Lakers are having a down year after setting a new franchise-worst mark for total losses in a single season, but the year comes to a close with the emotional high of sending off the 37-year-old veteran. Lakers head coach Byron Scott would not specify his intentions on how he will manage Bryant’s minutes in his final game, though he did allude to playing him for a new season-high for the 2015-2016 season. Bryant’s current season-high in minutes played in a single game is 37 minutes and four seconds.

The Lakers have redressed the area around Staples Center in preparation, putting up new signing on the arena featuring the 18-time NBA All-Star. The franchise also set up boards around Staples Center that fans can write a message in tribute to him on.

Bryant is averaging 16.9 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game. He will finish the season playing in 66 of the Lakers’ 82 games, missing just five games away from Staples Center through the year. Kobe Bryant’s final game tips off at 7:30 p.m. PT Wednesday night.
