La Jolla 51, Mission Bay 14

La Jolla jumped out early and often against Mission Bay to get a much needed win 51-14, being rude guests at Homecoming against Mission Bay. It seemed quite apparent from the opening kickoff two contrasting styles would benefit the Vikings from La Jolla. They like to spread you out and sling all over the yard while Mission Bay likes to ground and pound the run game.

Vikings Senior Quarterback Collin Rugg was throwing darts all night long throwing three touchdown passes in the first half to give La Jolla a 28-7 lead they would never relinquish. Mission Bay did cut the La Jolla lead in half when Quarterback Derrick Clark found Jhavari Ransom on the quick slant, broken tackle and 89 yards later Bucs only trailed 14-7. Mission Bay however would only punch it in one more time to fall to 3-5 on the season overall and 1-2 in league play.

La Jolla gets to the .500 mark with the win, now 4-4 on the year, and 1-1 in league play. They will have a tough matchup at home next week facing a red hot Madison team. Warhawks have won five straight after starting the season 0-3. Madison has scored at least 40 points in all five of those victories. Should be a shootout next Friday Halloween night. Mission Bay will have their hands full against a very good Point Loma team who is 7-1, that game will be at the Pointers place.
