La Jolla Playhouse interactive summer for all ages
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – La Jolla Playhouse is offering a variety of online education programs for all ages this summer. These interactive and imaginative programs offer fun at-home learning opportunities and resources for students, educators and families.
“Our Education staff has created a fantastic series of virtual offerings this summer, from our Lab Experience, where students meet over Zoom to devise an original theatre piece, to a series of commissioned, downloadable five-minute plays by a number of wonderful playwrights, including several alumni of our POP Tour. Even though we’re not able to gather in person, these programs can provide a safe space for creativity and dialogue for students of all ages,” said Christopher Ashley, the Rich Family Artistic Director of La Jolla Playhouse.
Brand new show: The Wizards of Oakwood Drive, a delightful performance for kids (7-12), where they Zoom in to be judges in an all-out sibling wizarding battle. With a little help from parents, kids are sent on a magical treasure hunt to find hidden items around their homes. Cast features Edred Utomi from Hamilton national tour.
The show is part of Digital Without Walls (WOW) series of virtual productions.
