Lakeside Chamber of Commerce hosts 3rd Annual “Touch A Truck: Lakeside Edition”
LAKESIDE (KUSI) – The Lakeside Chamber of Commerce hosted their third annual Touch A Truck event on Sunday, an event that celebrates the construction, industrial, and trucking industry in San Diego County. Dave Scott was live to check it out.
This family event is geared toward the kid in all of us, to have a hands on experience – climb on, get in the driver’s seat & touch a wide variety of equipment and vehicles with the hope of creating excitement toward one of these esteemed careers. Last year’s attendance of over 1,500 visitors enjoyed learning about heavy equipment, trash trucks, first responders, loaders, and so much more. Along with our vehicle exhibitions, there will be vendors, non-profits, food and a hay ride.
Touch A Truck: Lakeside Edition is where students can learn about career pathways and how STEM and business applications intersect to create intriguing and lucrative employment opportunities in San Diego’s industrial and agricultural sectors. A portion of the proceeds will fund educational programs geared toward the trucking, construction & industrial career paths for youth.
