Castle Park is in a state of transition. Head Coach Hans Graham is no longer at the helm of this storied football program which has sent five players to the NFL. While the PPR chooses not to discuss the details of this change, we do choose to point out how good Coach Hans has been to the PPR.
After playing for Castle Park as a high-schooler, Hans went to work as a maintenance man and part time coach for the high school. He would eventually ascend into the role as Head Coach.
The PPR will always appreciate Coach Hans for everything he has done for us over the years.
PREVIEW
The Week 5 South Bay Game of the Week features the Hilltop Lancers (1-3) traveling down the street to Castle Park to take on the Trojans (0-4)…a real old school South Bay rivalry!
With seven returning starters, the Trojans are hoping to improve upon last year’s 1-9 record. Junior Quarterback Diego Martinez has thrown two touchdown passes so far this season. Hilltop’s Wide Receiver Gus Ferreira is really one to watch. He hopes to eclipse his accomplishments from last year….as in 125 passes caught for 1,645 yards including 15 touchdown receptions. Those numbers earned him an All Section honor.
Hilltop has not had an easy situation this year as far as where they play. Because of the fact their 50-year-old field is being renovated, the Lancers really have no home games and use the Sweetwater stadium as their temporary home. Castle Park, meantime, is in a state of transition. Head Coach Hans Graham is no longer at the helm of this storied football program.
While the PPR chooses not to discuss the details of this change, we do choose to point out what a pillar of stability Hans has been for the Trojans over the last 25 years. After playing for Castle Park as a high-schooler, Hans went to work as a maintenance man and part time coach for the high school. He would eventually ascend into the role as Head Coach. The PPR will always love Coach Hans for everything he has done for us over the years.
Please catch all the action on Friday night at 10:30!
