Legendary coach Lou Holtz discusses the current state of college football as conferences postpone season

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Just shy of a month ago, Good Morning San Diego welcomed iconic football coach Lou Holtz to our airwaves.

The coach was less than optimistic that there would be a college football season in 2020, but hoped there would be.

Since then, some conferences like the Big Ten and PAC 12 have announced that they will postpone their 2020 season, while others are still figuring out ways to implement protocols so players can play.

Furthermore, many of the players have started voicing their support for getting back on the field. Players across the country have been using the hashtag, #WeWantToPlay, in order to show those in charge how they feel.

Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence tweeted his support for playing, pointing out that many players are safer at school. Cancelling the season, and forcing players to go back home puts many players in more dangerous conditions than they would be if football were to be played.
