Lemon Grove hit-and-run suspect to be arraigned

EL CAJON (KUSI) – A man booked into jail on suspicion of hit and run causing the death of a Lemon Grove jogger was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday afternoon.

46-year-old Guillermo Alvarado-Soler is suspected of running down 29-year-old Claudia Ramirez just before 8 p.m. on March 7 as she jogged near her home in Lemon Grove. Alvarado-Soler initially sped away from the scene, only to return a hour later where he was taken into police custody.

Drugs or alcohol were not suspected to have played a factor in the accident.

Ramirez died at the scene of the accident, which occurred on Massachusetts Avenue near Mount Vernon Street. According to the Medical Examiner’s Office, Ramirez was two weeks shy of her 30th birthday
