Leslie Lopez Weather Discussion – Monday, December 15, 2014
We are looking at several days of rain here in San Diego. The first round arrives tonight and lasts through the morning. We are expecting to receive some light showers, however it is likely your morning commute will be affected by the rain.
There will be a little break from rain during tomorrow afternoon, then the second round of rain begins tomorrow night into Wednesday morning. This round of rainfall will at times have moderate to heavy bursts rain especially for the afternoon and evening on Wednesday. This could prompt a flash flood watch and flood advisory for low lying valley areas along with communities with burn scars. We will be monitoring our San Diego river levels as well. Thunder is also a possibility and snow levels will be at 5,500 feet and above.
Scattered showers will linger around through Thursday, then Friday we will have a break from the rain with slightly warmer weather.
Saturday more rain is expected, then finally Sunday looks like we begin to see high pressure fill in and dry us out.
SURF: The High Surf Advisory will remain in effect through Wednesday. This afternoon the waves will roll in at 7 feet and increase to 10 feet by the evening. Stay cautious out there!
