Leslie Lopez Weather Discussion – Monday, September 29, 2014

It’s going to be a beautiful afternoon here in San Diego. Gorgeous weather is expected from the Coast to the Mountains, then we begin another warm-up!

Right now, most of the clouds have broken up throughout the county. It’s sunny and feels very fresh outside. Early this morning the overnight lows cooled off well! Escondido hit 52 degrees, while Campo was hovering right around 40 degrees along with Potrero. It wasn’t a bad morning to take a light sweater along, but something easy to peel off for the afternoon.

This afternoon we are expected to reach 76 Coastal, 80 Inland, 70 Mountains, 90 Desert. This mild weather pattern will slowly shift to downright hot by the weekend. Saturday is expected to be the warmest day of the week, but we won’t have that monsoonal moisture we have been so used to this past summer. The heat that is on the way will be a drier heat.

By Saturday we are expected to be about 10 degrees warmer at the Coast than we are today and 20 degrees warmer Inland. It won’t happen all at once and it will be gradual, so don’t put away those flip-flops just yet!!
