Leslie Lopez Weather Discussion – Tuesday, December 23, 2014

Another warm and beautiful day here in San Diego. High pressure is still dominating the forecast and will slowly break down tomorrow. The Santa Ana winds picked up overnight and we’re still experiencing gusty winds this morning for our coastal slopes, but that will begin to quiet down this afternoon.

Tomorrow, Christmas Eve, is a transition day where we will see cooler temperatures and lighter winds. It will still be lovely and mild day, but just a touch cooler. Along with Santa’s arrival on Christmas Day, there will be a temperature drop down to the mid 60’s and more gusty winds. This time those winds will be coming from the Northwest.

There is also a minor chance of some light showers on Christmas Day, however I am not counting on it. If we do see any it will likely be limited to the mountains.

The cooler weather will stay with us right into the weekend and the start of next work week. No real rain accumulations expected until next year!
