Leslie Lopez Weather Discussion – Wednesday, October 22, 2014

The warm-up has arrived today and we have further to go tomorrow. High pressure from the south is building in bringing us warmer afternoon highs, but cooler overnight lows, because we are lacking cloud coverage which has been keeping us warmer during the night and morning.

The lack of cloud coverage is because of the offshore winds, which are pushing the marine layer back out to the pacific. We will stay with this warmer weather through Friday, then another cool-down for Saturday and Sunday, to return once more with warmer weather at the start of next work week.

The waves have gotten smaller today from the 4-7 footers we saw yesterday, but the stronger offshore winds are making for great surf today with local sets around 3-4 footers.
