Light drizzle Thursday as storm continues to approach San Diego
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) — As a storm slowly approaches San Diego, cloudy skies and light drizzle are expected for Thursday with the bulk of the storm reaching the county Friday.
For Thursday, conditions will be windy and cool with a chance of light showers overnight. A wind advisory for mountains and deserts is expected to take effect at 3 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday. Winds may reach 25 to 35 miles per hour with possible gusts of 55 mph. The winds are expected to die down somewhat Friday and over the weekend but the chance of showers will increase.
Light scattered showers are expected to reach areas of the county Thursday night and continue into Friday morning. Significant rain is expected to pick up Friday and continue until Saturday morning. Over the weekend, showers are expected to continue but again be light and scattered before tapering off Saturday night.
The county may receive quarter-of-an-inch to an half-an-inch of rain and mountain areas may even experience an inch of rain during the storm.
