Lincoln 42, Kearny 6

Buzzzzz. Week 6 ended with the host (2-3) Lincoln Hornets defeating the (0-5) Kearny Komets, 24-6. A swarm of Hornets on the field dominated the Komets.

Within the first couple minutes, Lincoln’s Micah Edwards ran in a 14 yard touchdown to start the night off. The game remained scoreless until the 2nd quarter when Donell Pleasant completed a run across the field to set up a touchdown later in the drive. Once more, Micah Edwards ran in a 7 yard touchdown run, 14-0 Lincoln.

Kearny had difficulty finding momentum. Two of the Komet’s punts were blocked, but the second was capitalized by the Hornets for points. Lincoln’s Daelyn Dunn was in the right place at the right time, picking up the ball and running it in for a touchdown, 22-0 Lincoln.

The action didn’t stop there. Lincoln quarterback, Roman Martinez, passed a screen to La’tre Jacques for a 43 yard touchdown. La’tre, nicknamed “Trey-Trey”, flew and stung like a hornet all the way to the end zone.

Kearny did get a chance to score. Kearny’s, Takoda Browne, received a big touchdown pass to score the only Komet points of the night.

Just like every Friday night, the Prep Pigskin Report is there to catch all the exciting commotion!
