Lincoln Park bank robber flees empty-handed

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – A man attempted to rob a bank in Lincoln Park but fled empty-handed after the teller refused to hand over any money, police said Tuesday.

The suspect passed a demand note to a teller at the Wells Fargo Bank at 346 Euclid Ave. shortly before 11:30 a.m. Monday, saying he was armed, said San Diego police Officer Dan Lasher. But the teller would not give him any money and he ran off, Lasher said.

Police described the suspect as black and in his 20s, between 5 feet 3 and 5 feet 5 and wearing a black and white checkered shirt, dark pants and sunglasses.
