Linda Vista water main break
SAN DIEGO (CNS) – A pipeline break left part of a Linda Vista neighborhood temporarily without water service Tuesday.
A contracting crew accidentally ruptured the 12-inch-diameter cast-iron main at Tait and Ulric streets about 10:15 a.m., according to the San Diego Water Department.
It took repair crews a little over an hour to get the overflow under control, SDWD spokesman Arian Collins said. No structural flooding was reported.
The mishap left residents along the 1800 and 1900 blocks of David Street and the 7000 and 7100 blocks of Tait Street without functioning plumbing.
Service was expected to be restored by about 11 p.m., Collins said.
