Local animal shelters offer half-off adoption prices on dogs and cats

If you’re a dog lover, today is a day to celebrate because today is National Puppy Day!

Today is meant to celebrate puppies and raise awareness of the poor conditions in puppy mills. Today also serves as a reminder for people to adopt, not shop.

Three animal shelters are making it easier to adopt today by cutting prices for dogs and cats, in half. The shelters participating are Central Shelter, North Shelter, and South Shelter. The fees include spay or neutering, a microchip, vaccinations, and a free veterinary exam. Fees for cats and dogs over five years old will be waived.

The special pricing ends on Sunday. Share photos of your furry friends in the comments of our Facebook post below.

It's #NationalPuppyDay! In addition to showing love to your furry friends, National Puppy Day is a day to help save orphaned puppies across the globe! Share photos of your pets in the comments below.
