Local Assemblywoman:16 and 17-year-olds mature enough to make certain voting decisions

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Local assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez wants to change the legal voting age.

Gonzalez is proposing a change in the California state constitution which would allow 16 and 17-year-olds to vote in certain elections. Gonzalez says she was insipred by her teenage daughter, who she says is mature enough to make voting decisions 

The bill would allow 16 and 17-year-olds  to vote in local school board and community college board elections.
