Local researchers find new method of fighting leukemia cells
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Local researchers may have discovered a new weapon in the war on cancer.
Scientists in the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla said they have figured out how to make leukemia cells attack one another and this may lead to a new form of therapy.
According to the Leukemia Research Foundation, someone in the U.S. is diagnosed with blood cancer every four minutes.
Doctor Marin Xavier from the Scripps Clinic sat down with KUSI to talk more about the significance of this new research.
